Patrick joined Philip Lee Solicitors in 2007 and is a partner in our specialist employment team advising on all aspects of employment and equality law, employers’ liability and health and safety at work.
He has extensive experience advising on the Irish legal framework governing the employment relationship, including notice periods, illness benefits, holiday, maternity and parental leave, collective bargaining, and rights and duties under employment and equality legislation generally.
Patrick has also worked with clients in the conduct of disciplinary investigations and in investigations of and responses to bullying and harassment complaints in accordance with the client’s own disciplinary procedures and other written procedures and policies in the context of the over-riding requirement of constitutional fair procedures.
He has advised on and represented clients in relation to a broad range of contentious issues, such as discrimination, bullying and harassment, stress at work, wrongful and unfair dismissal, redundancies and collective and industrial relations. He also has considerable experience in defending Labour Court claims on behalf of public-sector and private-sector employers.
In addition, he is experienced in leading a team defending proceedings taken in the Equality Tribunal and has wide experience in appearing before that Tribunal.
